What if toxins were introduced into the food web?
If toxins were introduced into a food chain, that would be catastrophic. If the shin leaf got infected with a toxic then lots of bad things would happen to every organism in the food web. The shin leaf would give it to the snowshoe rabbit, when it got eaten. The arctic fox eats a lot of hares and accumulates a lot of toxic chemicals. That is called bio magnification, the concentration of toxins. Bio magnification is bad because it's when the toxins multiply. Then, it would go all the way up the food web and the tiger would have a lot of toxins that invade his biomass, the energy in organisms that it needs to live, the higher the trophic level the more biomass needed. The tiger needs the most bio accumulation, accumulation of biomass, because it takes more biomass to keep a tiger going.
